This month our suite spotlight is on Snyder Studio! Jenny Snyder owns Snyder Studio located in suite 5 of our downtown Dearborn location. Jenny has been a stylist for over 10 years specializing in hair coloring and cutting. What is your favorite thing about your salon suite so far?
The freedom to truly be myself and create the type of environment I want my clients to experience.
What is the best thing about being an independent beauty professional?
You're the boss! Being in charge of everything may sound intimidating, but you get to set the tone for everything like services you perform, days off, music you listen to, dress code, the list could go on and on.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about transitioning to a salon suite from a traditional salon?
DO. IT. It is the most liberating feeling you will ever have in your career. If you're nervous, you're not alone. It's a big decision, but it's worth it all! Gather information from salon suites and people you may know who are in them. Break down the costs you know you'll have, and save whatever you can for initial start up fees. Once you get going it is smooth sailing!
What do you love most about 7 Salon Suites?
I haven't felt appreciated as a person in my workplace for many, many years. At 7 Salon Suites I feel like they truly care about me and care that I even exist. They have asked me about my opinions on a few things and truly want to hear feedback. I enjoy having the front door securely locked at all times. My salon suite is perfect. It provides everything I need and then some. There is a lot of closed cabinetry, which keeps things neat. My shampoo bowl comes with a really nice neck pillow, which my clients are loving! Also, the location is amazing. So many of my clients have raved about how great the location is. Dearborn is beautiful and very easy to get to from any one direction. Did I mention the friends I have made?! There are so many wonderful and supportive people here working alongside of you, and that is so much fun!
